Resources
The Resource Library of the Creole Heritage Center has the largest single collection of materials relating to the Louisiana Creole culture and its links nationwide. Our collections include research papers, submitted family histories, photographs, reference books, copies of historical documents and record listings, oral histories, and memorabilia. The information contained within the Library represents the only national clearinghouse of Creole related data. Although much of its holdings are listed in various computer programs, efforts are underway to develop a Collections Management Program and central cataloging system. The goals of this undertaking are twofold; produce a comprehensive in-house searchable database, and an online version of selected records for world-wide access to information previously unavailable.
